Yes, it’s the new year. The first day of the year passed by without much fanfare. But for me, the first day marked a renewal and strengthening of friendships. I spent most of my days with friends. First, with a dancer over Roti Prata and Gelato. :) Then with a songbird over coffee. I love catching up with friends and just talking for hours. There are so many other friends that I ought to be catching up with, but haven’t, so, I’m sorry. I will make sure that I find time to meet up with you.
I want to be a better friend this year. Last year was a year filled with too many regrets about losing friends. I try to be a good friend, but at times there seem to be so many things clamouring for my attention that I neglect those I love. I brushed them off and then found out that when I did so, they needed someone to be there, and I wasn’t. There’s nothing I can say but sorry. I promise to try harder this year.

In a style like that of a particularly special and spacie friend of mine,
Family can be trying at times, but I want to continue loving and respecting every member.
Friends can disappoint at times, but I want to continue hoping and loving each and every one.
School and work can be so very hard at times, but I want to do my best.
(Love) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:7
There are so many things that I have told myself that I should do this year; so many things that I want to achieve. I make resolutions, set targets, dream dreams. But many a time I fail to realise these dreams because I get so distracted or don’t-care-ish. This year, I want to put my past failures and regrets behind me, for the old has gone and the new has come.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14

I sang this song on Mothers’ Day last year in church. And Janani keeps threatening to sing a duet with me using this song. :)
I pray you’ll be our eyes, and watch us where we go,
And help us to be wise, in times when we don’t know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we’ll be safe…
I pray we’ll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night
Eternal light will shine.
Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
Sognamo un mondo senza più violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno di la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità
We ask that life be kind
And watch us from above
We hope each soul will find
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Needs to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
E’ la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salverà
(An adaptation of The Prayer sung by Josh Groban.)

Argh. I’m getting a cold. Not good. I have too many things to do.
