Today started off as a bad day with tiredness due to jetlag and a horrible cold. And the day seemed to promise to be a pointless and a complete waste of time.
But as I sat at the benches in the afternoon, I was told to run around the school shouting, “Gloria in excelsis deo!” So, to you who reminded me to praise God: thank you. I needed that.
And during worship practice, I sang my heart out, and my voice. :) I’ll probably be a little hoarse tomorrow, but no worries. I’ve got a good feeling about Sunday.
One more thing, I now agree with Dil, I love getting presents for friends. It makes me feel all warm and happy inside to choose a present especially for that someone. That’s why I’ll probably never get someone a book voucher or a gift that doesn’t require any thought. After all, I’ve always hated getting a mug or photoframe, because it’s rather evident that the person couldn’t or didn’t want to think of what to get me. Perhaps now I realise why some people say that you receive from giving.
And as we sang I Would Be True in chapel today, I was reminded of how it was SMPS’ school creed and how we used to sing it every Wednesday.
To correct a point made in today’s chapel message which implied that God’s judgement was like darkness (I found the point utterly appalling), here’s a passage.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.
John 3:19-21
Thank you God for a good day. I love you.
