Elizabeth’s recount of last night’s dinner is nothing short of amusing. :)
Swimming became a time of talking, well, I did swim like 6 laps! But we’re girls, so what do you expect? Haha. Cheryl and I are so alike, with same taste too. Book shopping is very, very satisfying. I shall have to go more often now. Except the Orchard Library and Kino are rather chaotic and messy. I need order and proper cataloguing to find the books that I need.
Time to finish preparation for tomorrow. And write a proposal. Ah, wonderful admin work. Nothing can get me down now, no, not even admin work. :)
Last night was not way too bad. Saw family again and was very thankful that I wasn’t asked about my EE; it always seems to come up. Putting a group of young people together doesn’t always go very well, as we’re not versed in the art of making small talk for hours on end. But it turned out to be alright, spent my evening talking with an ‘uncle’ who’s more like my cousin about ACS(i) and he remembering the teachers who were there, when Dr. Ong was DP and then became the P. And of course, when you have somewhat ‘bimbotic’ (Ok, I know, it’s not very nice to call people that) cousins, or technically aunts, sitting across the table, it does get amusing, though the conversation does become a little strange. But as I watched them, I wished that I had grown up with cousins my own age. It would have been a lot of fun. But what to do when you and your siblings are the oldest and those closest to you in age are halfway across the world.
Today promises to be a good day, albeit a busy one. Swimming in the morning! Hurray! :) I love swimming, it’s the only sport other than badminton or netball that I’ll do willingly. No, not even for that thing called NAPFA (which reminds me of a rude name Yao Wen came up for it last year). Then, bookshopping! A double hurray!
But before I go, I need to prepare tomorrow’s YG session. I’m sharing on Romans 13. No, not the one about submission to authorities, Ali (incidentally) spoke about that last week. lol. I’m sharing about the second part. And I’ve now decided that John Stott writes some of the best Bible commentaries. :)
The first part of the week was quite useless because of the free periods. I enjoyed the time at the beginning, but it got kind of boring after a while. Especially when one has 3 hours and 40 minutes free in one Wednesday. We were supposed to start Chinese lessons, but the teacher didn’t turn up in the end.
Anyway, best be going off to work! Adios!
P.S. In the middle of John Casti’s Paradigms Regained, though I do suppose I should have started with his Paradigms Lost. It makes good reading though, but I do think that he is rather pedantic at times. I would never have dreamt that I would be reading a book on modern science.
So who commented?
